Carnao Beats is an underground house music artist from South West London. Carnao has been on the scene since 1995 when he started out playing in front of small crowds in and around London. From an early age, Carnao Beats (real name Carn Fawcett) had a talent for knowing how to work with the crowd and understanding what music would get the audience going. This natural talent, combined with influences from great artists such as DJ EZ, is what drove Carnao Beats to take up a career in music in since then, he has gone from strength to strength.
Carnao Beats has been classically trained on drums and the piano and has since taken an interest in a range of genres, including 90s dance, old skool garage and in more recent years, underground house music. Carnao’s career exploded in 2012 when he released H.O.U.S.E on the respected imprint, Audio Rehab. Carnao’s follow-up single Know My Name crafted alongside the talented duo Amine Edge & DANCE was also a massive hit and attracted the attention of labels, producers and radio stations.
Leading on from his success to that point, Carnao Beats then went on to release his following track, “Gone in the Morning” feat. Donaeo. The involvement of Donaeo helped to bring further exposure to Carnao Beats, his music and his brand. Thanks to massive support from DJs, including MK and Roger Sanchez, as well as Carnao’s tracks being consistently played on BBC Radio 1Xtra, ‘Bass Switch’ was purchased by Armine Edge & DANCE for their CUFF Records label. Carnao has proved that he can keep it down in the studio and the club, having performed shows alongside Josh Butler, Route94, Second City, and a slew of other house music artists.
Following these many accolades, Carnao Beats has risen through the house music scene, going from strength to strength in music production, radio presenting and as an event DJ. In his own words, Carnao Beats describes his style of DJing as “Unplanned, high energy, with some very deep elements”. This is undoubtedly a combination that ensures that his talent for reading a crowd and pulling out just the right record at just the right time will guarantee you some of the best nights of your life.
Carnao Beats became involved with LDP Radio when he appeared as a special guest at our first charity event – House4house – on 27th March 2021. Carnao headlined the event alongside some of the fantastic resident DJs from LDP Radio. This event was all in aid of raising awareness for the mental health charity SRA Ltd and the tagline for the event was “helping mental health with music”.
